More and more mobile apps are becoming available for Android devices. Grab the app, ‘Barcode Scanner’, for your Android Phone, which will enable you to scan QR Codes. QR Codes are square barcodes, like the ones you see below, which can contain data for a website, URL, URI, plain text, SMS message, full contact information and more.
Here, try out this QR Code, which takes you to FMLS’s Mobile Login screen:

Dan Burrus, a technology forecaster and creator of real estate-based applications for smart phones, believes iPhone and iPad applications may soon replace the traditional multiple listing service. He makes the following predictions on how smart phones will change how Realtors will communicate with buyers:
The iPad and other smart pads will be the Realtors tool of choice when working with a client–having access to information in the palm of your hand is transformational.
Smart phone or smart pad applications will take over as the tool for buying and selling homes, dubbing the MLS as fragmented and old fashioned.
Realtors will enhance their communication and relationship-building skills through video conferencing on smart phones.
Location-based and presence-aware apps (which allow for instant connection to others) will help Realtors and homebuyers to work more effectively together.
